Job Description
We are seeking a Business Analyst / Product Owner to join a dynamic Agile team. In this role, you will be the key liaison between business stakeholders and the development team. You’ll be responsible for managing and prioritizing the product backlog to ensure that solutions deliver maximum business value. This is a fully on-site role based in Kansas City, MO.
Responsibilities
Act as the primary liaison between the development team and business stakeholders.
Manage the product backlog: define, refine, and prioritize stories to maximize product value.
Collaborate with technical teams, UX/UI designers, and business SMEs to elicit and document clear, concise, and actionable requirements.
Translate business needs into detailed user stories and acceptance criteria that are understandable to developers.
Ensure backlog items are ready for development through grooming and prioritization.
Support all Scrum ceremonies including:
Daily Standups
Sprint Planning
Sprint Refinement
Sprint Demos (in collaboration with Product Managers)
Escalate concerns, blockers, or scope changes to the Product Manager and Implementation Lead in a timely manner.
Champion the voice of the customer throughout the development lifecycle.
Continuously seek ways to optimize backlog structure and team velocity.
Technical & Business Requirements
Must-Have Skills
7+ years of experience in roles as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or related Agile Product role.
Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and product delivery lifecycles.
Proven ability to translate complex business requirements into user stories and prioritize them effectively.
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including engineering, UX/UI, and business stakeholders.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Desired Skills
Experience in enterprise environments with complex stakeholder landscapes.
Knowledge of digital transformation or product modernization projects.
Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar.
